I know I said in that other thread Tetris 64, Evangelion, Dezaemon and Rakuga Kids looked decent but what else is there to look at and why? Now what I'm wondering is that going forward with the adapter what are someones options with JP games?Īlso are there games that may have been marginally to greatly changed when brought over to the US where the original uncut release in Japanese is superior enough to bother? An awesome game I liked on DC and the other was fun on the Wii VC and also 1/2 broken as a rom on an emualtor a decade earlier. The price was $150, but I got it knocked down a 1/3. I stumbled upon a non-game (person sells shoes on ebay almost exclusively) seller who happened to list Bangaioh, Sin & Punishment and an adapter for them to use in a US system. I had mentioned something about being after bigger fish with a smirk in there in relation to this. So, the title menu uses those monster 16x8 guys (diminished anywhere from 14x8 to 10x8 depending on the situation), and the subtitles are not styled so they're somewhat legible. This kind of creeped into that other thread of the $20 and under understated N64 game post I made and it got me thinking when it did. I tried to use fonts for each that closely resembled the fonts used for the same purpose in the japanese. The VC version didn't have the advantage of changing tile sizes (they're pure image replacements, which I've extracted too for giggles), so they were also limitted to the boring, weird, 8x8 font. Glad you like it! I'm looking for translators (and not the google kind) for some other projects as well.įor anyone interested, it's a bit different from the VC version. Sorry, I'm on really, really limitted internet for right now, so if you get one good upload I'd aim there over here.

I'm actually surprised this game doesn't have a bigger following to be honest - I loved it to bits! Hey! I'll finally manage to find out what the options were that I've been messing with for all these years without actually seeing any changes! hehehe Gonna need to get my compact flash drive so I can rock this game finally translated always wonder why she sounds like a man though cheers Zoinkity and you Kerr for spreading word !! I LOVE this game but big language barrier. But to play S&P in English on a real N64 (which is how true N64 fans like to play things) was until now impossible, but thanks to Zoinkity's hard work we can follow the story (and game options!) in one of the N64's best games.Īhh Tsumi to Batsu - Hoshi no Keishousha. I've not tried this myself (I don't tend to use N64 emulators, as they are less than perfect at the moment), so I don't know how this compares to the new translation. You can play this on an N64 emulator too, but there is already an emulator only translation of the game at
SIN AND PUNISHMENT N64 ROM ENGLISH PATCH
For details see īTW, I had a bit of trouble applying the patch - neither the version of the game rom I already had, nor the next three I downloaded, would accept the patch, it was the fourth download (all from different sites, and none of the downloads were corrupt) that worked, but it's well worth the little bit of trouble it took to get the patch working. But now you can play it on the N64 in English, which is fantastic news. The game, which was voted the best "run 'n' gun" shooter ever by Retro Gamer magazine (in issue 44), was an N64 exclusive that was never released outside of Japan in the N64 years, though later it was made available (in English) for the VC downloads on the Wii. Sin and Punishment (mainly known by it's Japanese title of Tsumi to Batsu) now has an unofficial fan translation (by Zoinkity), so you can play it on your N64 in English (you need a backup device to play it, of course, such as the Everdrive 64). I'm surprised Zoinkity hasn't posted this, so I'll post this great piece of N64-related news. Posted: Mon 4:19 am Post subject: Sin and Punishment (N64) has been translated into English!
